Therefore the maintenance, annually periodic checks and lift service of elevators should be made by firms which have authorized service and maintenance documents to be able to make elevator continue running.
The issues to be considered in elevator maintenance and repairment:
- The firm which will give the elevator service and make the maintenance should be one complying with the stipulations specified in regulations and having authority.
- As making the maintenance contract, terms of maintenance and the works to do during the maintenances should be stated.
- During the maintenance and service, the attendant of the building should accompany the elevator firm authority and observe the works done.
- After servicing elevator maintenance form should be mutually signed by the attendant.
- The replaced parts should be left to the attendant.
- Hoist way, topside of elevator cabin and machine room should be cleaned.
- Keys to elevator doors should be checked at every service.
- There should be checked for any broken or fracture on elevator door glass.
- The elevator guides should be greased.
- Parachute brake system should be checked
- The oil level of machine motor should be checked, if missing it should be refilled.
- Lift cabin and landing buttons should be tested.
- Regulators and elevator ropes should be checked.
- Safety buttons inside the elevator cabin should be tested to control if they are operating or not.
